Halloween is just around the corner, and we’re all getting ready for costumes, candy, and fun. The City of Leduc and the Leduc RCMP want everyone to enjoy the festivities while staying safe. Here are a few friendly reminders:
For Trick-or-Treaters & Families
- Bring a flashlight, glow stick, or add reflective tape to costumes to help drivers see you.
- Stick to sidewalks and cross at corners or crosswalks.
- Stay with your group and keep little ones close.
- Save the snacks for home and check treats before eating.
- Say hi to Leduc Peace Officers who will be out and about supporting safe trick-or-treating with glow sticks and candy.
For Drivers
- Slow down and stay alert, especially during peak trick-or-treating hours between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m.
- Watch carefully for children who may be excited and move unpredictably.
For Neighbours Handing Out Treats
- Light up your walkway and clear any obstacles.
- Use battery-operated candles instead of open flames for decorations.
- Keep pets inside to avoid surprises at the door.
