Details have recently been released regarding the lawsuit against the City of Leduc. We know this may be disconcerting. This settlement has provided the necessary means to move forward with critical change initiatives.

Our priority continues to be fostering a safe and respectful workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Since becoming aware of the allegations outlined in the class action filings, we have implemented significant changes including staffing, psychological health and safety initiatives, mandatory training, workplace investigation training, revisions to the Respect in the Workplace Policy, and development of a comprehensive Code of Conduct. These efforts will help to prevent this type of situation from happening again.

Our residents will not shoulder the cost of this settlement. Legal and claims costs are covered by the insurer and will have no effect on future property taxes.

We acknowledge the profound impact that this matter has had. We have learned from this experience and are continuing to move forward in a way that honours our commitment to a respectful and safe environment for all. This remains central to everything we do.
