Cole Newman

Recipient of the 2025 Youth Award of Merit, Cole Newman is a dedicated young leader whose passion for volunteerism, the arts, and youth advocacy has made a meaningful impact in the City of Leduc. A lifelong resident of Leduc who is going into his senior high school year, Cole has spent the past several years actively contributing to initiatives that strengthen community and empower local youth.

Cole served as a Youth Ambassador on the Leduc Youth Council from 2022 to 2024 and is currently the chair of the Youth Council. He played an instrumental role in developing the Youth Ambassador program, creating opportunities for younger residents to become involved in leadership and community service. Cole has volunteered at numerous community events, including Teen Takeover and the Youth Wellness Symposium, while also announcing the Influencer Awards at Volunteer Fest in 2022 and 2023.

As Secretary of the Ohpaho Secondary School Student Council, Cole helps organize initiatives that support student wellness and school spirit. He is also an active member of Leduc’s performing arts community, taking on leading roles in productions such as The Addams Family, Clue and Shrek Jr. Through his leadership, creativity and dedication, Cole continues to inspire others and make Leduc a stronger, more connected community.
