Forty thousand people now call Leduc home. To mark the occasion, the City is sharing a five-part storytelling campaign that looks back at the defining moments that helped shape Leduc and what we’re looking forward to.
From its early beginnings near Telford Lake to the discovery of oil at Leduc No. 1, generations of families have built their lives here in Leduc. Our story has always been about more than numbers. It is a story shaped by the people who call this community home.
“Reaching 40,000 residents is an exciting milestone for Leduc and a reflection of the people who have helped build this community over generations,” says City of Leduc Mayor Lars Hansen. “As we celebrate this moment, we also look forward with intention and optimism as we plan for a future that reflects the same community-minded values that Leduc has become known for.”
The campaign shares Leduc’s story through five phases:
Residents are encouraged to follow the campaign on the City’s social media and take time to explore some of Leduc’s historical places, including the Leduc No. 1 oil derrick, Dr. Woods House Museum and the Leduc grain elevator.
