The Block Connector program fosters and supports community builders and leaders through training and communication tools to create connection and engagement among neighbours. A Block Connector is a citizen who is interested in building a strong sense of community within their neighbourhood to help instill the feeling of ‘connection’ and create a sense of belonging.

Do you have the traits of a Block Connector?

Block Connectors are trustworthy, friendly, open, kind and attentive. They are interested in meeting new people, building connections and bringing people together. Does this sound like you? If so, we would love to hear from you!

What do Connectors do?

As a Block Connector, you would be asked to:

  • Introduce yourself to the closest 10 to 20 households on your block
  • Help connect neighbours at an activity once per year
  • Act as a contact person for your street, apartment or condo complex
  • Book a Coffee Pop-Ups on your block by coordinating with FCSS

What does the City of Leduc do to help the connectors?

We’re always here to help and will offer support to Block Connectors by:

  • Supporting connectors with resource materials
  • Helping out with the first couple of block connections (if needed)
  • Assisting connectors if they decide to transition out of this role

How can Block Connectors help make their neighbourhood better?

Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly how to help. Below are some ideas as to how you can help support your block, community and the City of Leduc.
