The Block Party program is a tool offered by the city to support creative ideas led by community builders to bring their closest neighbours together for camaraderie and conversation.

Block Party season typically runs May 1 – September 30.

To help you get started, here are things to consider:

Best spots would be driveways, yard, local parks and green spaces. Select roadways may be eligible for a block party closure, depending on safety guidelines and neighbourhood approval. Roadways that would not be considered for this program are listed here.

If you would like to request a Temporary Street Closure you will need to notify and receive agreement from all Neighbours affected and submit a Road Closure Application Form.  Please contact FCSS for more information about road closures.

We have great resources for you to review before you start planning:

Party hosts must submit their request online through the registration form a minimum of 14 days before the event date. Once you’ve completed and submitted the online registration, a staff member will follow-up with the organizer identified on the form.

You can request members of the City of Leduc Fire Services to attend your block party? It’s a great opportunity for the neighbourhood to meet some of the crew that help to keep our community safe. Learn more.

Should you have any questions, please email [email protected] or call (780) 980-7109.

Block Party Registration

Thank you for your interest in registering a block party. A block party is considered a gathering of neighbours on your residential block. Large events that require road closures are considered special events and follow different guidelines.
