The updated plan will support future road infrastructure and active transportation needs

The newly updated City of Leduc Transportation Master Plan (TMP) is a long-term strategy to guide the development of a resilient, adaptable transportation network that meets the evolving needs of the city and region. Updated every seven years, the TMP supports offsite levy updates and ensures infrastructure planning aligns with projected growth.

“The Transportation Master Plan is about more than just roads – it’s about fostering a well-connected and accessible network to enhance the community’s quality of life,” says Bob Young, Mayor of City of Leduc. “The plan will give us a strategic framework to guide decision-making on infrastructure investments and transportation policies for Leduc.”

An open house to view and learn more about the updated Transportation Master Plan will be held on:

  • Date: Tuesday, June 17
  • Time: 4-6 p.m.
  • Location: LRC Legion Room

Residents are encouraged to drop by and see how the updates aim to address emerging transportation challenges and seize opportunities to enhance transportation infrastructure and services.

The TMP update was developed over several phases of exploration, evaluation, and engagement before approval. Resident feedback was collected in June 2023 with responses along the key themes of:

  • Active transportation
  • Residential area roads
  • Transportation corridors

Input was incorporated with a comprehensive traffic analysis in the final creation of the TMP.
