Signs on Private Property

A sign permit application may be required for any businesses or organization wishing to place a sign on private property (with the consent from the owner of the property). Sign permits are regulated under the Land Use Bylaw and fall under the development permit process when an application is submitted.

A permit is not required to:

  • Maintain or repair a legally existing sign
  • Change or reduce the copy area of a legally existing sign

Submit your application through CityView Portal.

These signs commonly serve to share information, promote an event ,or direct traffic to new areas of the city.
