Starting Aug. 29, the City of Leduc is excited to welcome residents to the newly opened Deer Valley Dog Park, now a permanent, year-round off-leash space for pets and people to explore and play. The park is located off Grant MacEwan Blvd near MacEwan Greens (6201 Grant MacEwan Blvd). The completed park gives residents on the west side of Leduc a safe and friendly place for their dogs and features a drinking water fountain for pets and benches.
“Dog parks support active living and help build strong, connected neighbourhoods,” says Mayor Lars Hansen, City of Leduc. “We are excited to see the Deer Valley Dog Park become a permanent space that residents and their pets can enjoy year-round.”
The dog park first opened in 2023 as a two-year pilot project in the Deer Valley neighbourhood. After strong community use and positive feedback, it was approved as a permanent amenity during 2026 budget deliberations.
Residents are reminded to follow posted park rules, keep dogs under control, clean up after their pets, and be respectful of other park users.
