City of Leduc Fire Services responded to a multi-structure fire on 50 Street in Leduc during the early morning hours of Sept. 17, the cause of which is under investigation.

The fire involved four properties: one commercial property under construction, a single-family home and a duplex. The occupied homes were evacuated; residents received support from Victim Services and have been moved to a hotel. No injuries were reported.

Fire Services also responded to a dumpster fire in the vicinity. It is likely the result of embers spreading from the multi-structure fire and will be part of the City's investigation.

Leduc County and the City of Beaumont also responded as part of the municipalities’ mutual aid agreement. The fire was declared out around 5 a.m.

The fire caused a power outage for a number of properties in the area. For the most updated information about the outage, please check the FortisAlberta website.
