Leduc receives federal funding to support green initiatives
Today, the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, and Mayor Bob Young announced a federal investment of $205,431 to support upgrades to the Leduc Civic Centre and the annual tree purchase in our city.
These funds will improve public spaces for Leduc residents and visitors and support our environment by:
Purchasing new trees to replace those lost to disease and pests; providing a healthier outdoor environment and beautifying Leduc’s natural spaces for people to enjoy year-round.
- Upgrading the Leduc Civic Centre to improve air flow and provide better control of room temperature. These improvements will increase the building’s efficiency and create a safer and more welcoming place for workers and visitors.
“Today’s announcement supports our commitment to invest in infrastructure for communities through greener and improved spaces for residents and visitors. With these upgrades to the municipal building and the purchase of new greenery in Leduc, residents will have an environment that supports a healthier lifestyle in their daily work and activities. By collaborating with our provincial and municipal partners, we are able to contribute to improving local environments to benefit citizens.”
The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities
