Educate Yourself to be a Superhero
Family violence can happen in many forms and isn’t limited to physical abuse.
Alberta has the third-highest rate of reported spousal assaults in the country (Statistics Canada 2016). Family violence affects everyone and is exhibited in various ways:
- Hurtful words
- Threatening gestures
- Physical harm toward people, property, pets
- Withholding affection and/or unwanted sexual contact
- Controlling money
- Neglecting and abusing seniors
