The City of Leduc conducts an annual municipal census to ensure the city receives provincial funding proportionate with Leduc’s growing population. Leduc relies on provincial funding to help offset the costs of many important services, including infrastructure improvements and maintenance, recreation and culture programs, Family and Community Support Services, RCMP and Leduc Fire Services.
Leduc conducted the 2017 municipal census April 1 - March 31. Households received PIN numbers in the mail late March to complete the municipal census on a secure online site. Leduc's updated 2017 population count was 31,130 (growth rate of 2% over 2016). The City grew with the addition of 632 new residents.
Leduc's updated 2016 population count was 30,498 (growth rate of 4% over 2015, and 80% since 2006). The City grew with the addition of 1,194 new residents.
